The Call of Duty

A lot of what we do in life is out of duty. We know we should, we know we could but do we? I think a lot of it depends on how you view personal responsibility.

If I look at duty as something I get to do to help another person instead of something I’m obligated to do, it makes all the difference. I’m still amazed that God can use me to help someone else and that person would welcome my help. I have this tremendous opportunity to shape the world by speaking into the lives of people on a day by day basis.

When we see helping people as a sense of obligation, then we going to be less likely to help them in a way that will bring about lasting change. So the next time someone needs you for a reason- think opportunity instead of obligation.
