In two weeks we test drive our new church site- a cafe in the North Park area of San Diego. For the three summer services I am doing a message series about who Jesus said he was. I think this is important because our target audience is unchurched people that have heard a lot about Jesus but may be unfamilar with what Jesus said about himself.
I need your help. I’ve taken some statements that Jesus made about himself in the Gospel of John. I need to take this list and reduce it down to three statements. Here’s your opportunity to give your input. Think like an unchurched person and let me know which three statements I should speak on.
- I am he (the Messiah) John 4:26
- the bread of life 6:35
- light of the world 8:12
- the gate 10:7
- the good shepherd 10:11
- God’s Son 10:36
- the resurrection and the life 11:25
- the way, the truth and the life 14:6
- the true vine 15:1
- I am a king 18:37
If you want to give your reasons for picking your top three statements- feel free. I appreciate your help.
