Backward and Forward

My friend, Chad Furlong, led our staff development training last week. The topic was creativity in ministry and Chad said something that has stuck with me: Looking back for theology, forward for innovative presentation.

God is so tremendously creative and He has made us with that same creativity. Unfortunately, we get stuck in a routine of what works and that eventually leads to a rut. We need to re-invent ourselves and our ministry often to keep it fresh and alive.

Chad reminded us to nourish our creativity by connecting with God in quiet times.

He also gave a caution: The message has to be stronger than our tools.

  1. Thanks for the reference! I had a great time with the group. Please give them my love.

Backwards for the discovery of who we are and forward for how to explain it.

    Love you Frank!

    Chad.
